    Producers Competition - Winner

    Last week, 11 finalists were chosen to be in the running to win the Defqon.1 Producers Competition, with the prize being the ultimate timeslot on the Defqon.1 Australia line-up. It was hard to select a winner, as all finalists had produced high quality anthems and the public voting was almost equally shared amongst some of the tracks.

    After days of consideration, Q-dance decided that the best Defqon.1 anthem submitted in the Producers Competition is 'The New Generation' produced by Alterior Motivz.

    'The New Generation' by Alterior Motivz is a combination of energetic rhythms with a very solid production. It's taking the elements from different tracks and putting them all into one. The incorperation of the reverse bass in the beginning of the track with sole nothing but the reverse bass gave the judging panel goosebumps over and over again. It reminded us of 'The Summer of Hardstyle' by Proppy & Heady.

    The big kicks are nicely produced and work very well with the melody which makes you desire to the ultimate festival atmosphere, it's something simple and easy to follow along with. Musically the track works well, and is therefore a deserved winner. It was also one of the most loved track by the public, indicated by the number of votes submitted over the last week.

    Q-dance congratulates Alterior Motivz with this result, and would like to thank all other finalists and participants for all their efforts and dedication to this contest. There is also no doubt that you will hear from some of the other finalists again in the near future!

    Thanks to the overwhelming response (over 300 tracks submitted), Q-dance is planning to do a similar contest next year: so another chance for all producing talent to develop your skills in the coming months and have another go in 2011.

    Alterior Motivz
    Alterior Motivz are not unknown to Q-dance. Last year they already knew how to impress us with a spot at the NSW finals in the Australian Hard Dance DJ Championships. Alterior Motivz is the alias for Matt 'SkItZo' Olivieri and Andrew 'Stavee' Stavrou, both from NSW (Australia). Both Matt (22) and Andrew (20) have been dj'ing since their early teen-years. Both being devoted hard dance followers with a special love and passion for hardstyle, they met at a small underground rave in 2009, and decided to share their knowledge, skills and love to create Alterior Motivz. Wanting more out of their passion, Alterior Motivz endeavoured to start producing their own tracks early 2010.
